Use inspection evidence before releasing the supplier’s final balance payment.
Pre-Shipment Inspection China
Pre-shipment inspection before final payment and shipment release.
QIS inspects finished goods in China before they leave the factory, helping Amazon FBA sellers and ecommerce importers decide whether to approve shipment, request rework or arrange re-inspection.
What is a PSI?
Final decision support before goods leave your supplier.
Pre-shipment inspection is a quality control check performed when production is completed and goods are mostly packed. It gives buyers practical evidence on product quality, quantity, packaging and shipment readiness before the supplier receives final balance payment or freight pickup is arranged.
For Amazon FBA sellers, PSI can also include FNSKU label checks, carton label review, barcode readability, polybag warning, carton marks and packaging condition.
Finished quantity, packed quantity, carton count, assortment, shipping marks and packing list consistency.
Appearance, function, size, color, assembly and defects classified as critical, major or minor under agreed AQL levels.
Function tests, measurements, accessories, manuals, labels and any buyer-provided checklist or approved sample comparison.
FNSKU labels, barcode readability, carton labels, polybag warnings, carton condition and SKU/carton consistency when required.
Why you need PSI
Reduce shipment risk before it becomes expensive.
Once goods leave the factory, rework, replacement, relabeling and repacking become slower and more expensive. PSI helps buyers make the decision while the supplier can still fix problems.
Decide whether to approve shipment, hold goods, request rework or arrange re-inspection.
Catch label, packaging and carton issues before goods are sent to Amazon FBA warehouses.
Identify visible defects, missing accessories and function issues that may cause bad reviews or returns.
Inspection process
How QIS carries out pre-shipment inspection.
| Step | What happens | Buyer decision value |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Booking review | QIS reviews product details, supplier location, quantity, inspection date, checklist and FBA requirements. | Confirms whether the inspection scope is clear before the visit. |
| 2. On-site sampling | Inspector selects samples based on agreed AQL level, lot size and available packed goods. | Provides a practical sampling basis instead of random visual checking. |
| 3. Product and packaging check | Inspector checks workmanship, function, measurements, packaging, labels, carton marks and shipment readiness. | Shows whether product and shipment details match the order requirements. |
| 4. Defect classification | Defects are recorded as critical, major or minor and compared with agreed acceptance limits. | Gives a clear pass/fail/hold basis for shipment approval. |
| 5. Report delivery | QIS prepares a photo-based inspection report with findings, defect list and recommendation. | Supports supplier communication, rework request and payment decision. |
